Board Policies open for Public Review and Comment

Under the direction of the Board of Trustees, Board policies are reviewed periodically to ensure they align with the goals and initiatives of the Washoe County School District; and to ensure compliance with local, state and federal laws and regulations. Proposed documents for revision, adoption or deletion are posted below for review and comment by the public.

The Board of Trustees will review any proposed revisions to current policies or new policies during a regular meeting before the policy is posted for public review and comment. After the public review and comment period, the policy revisions or new policy will return to the Board of Trustees for additional review and final approval.

Board Policy 7105 - School Capacity Management & Attendance Zones

Board Policy 7105, School Capacity Management and Attendance Zones, provides direction for capacity management to ensure the efficient use of facilities and procedures related to school attendance zones and zone variances within the Washoe County School District. The proposed revisions address when the Zoning Advisory Committee should consider changes to attendance zones for schools that are anticipated to close.

The public comment period for this policy is open until 5:00 p.m. on May 30, 2025. Please submit comments to Policy@washoeschools.net
